Auto Accident: Alleged DUI Motorist Crashes into Palm Tree in Vicinity of Cheyenne and Civic Center
A driver was arrested following a single-vehicle collision in North Las Vegas on Friday afternoon around 3:08 p.m. near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive. Police discovered a black Chevy pickup truck that had struck a palm tree on a sidewalk after the driver lost control while attempting to turn.
The incident occurred when the driver, traveling southbound on Civic Center Drive, attempted to turn east onto Cheyenne Avenue. The vehicle veered off the roadway into a landscaped area in front of a Panda Express restaurant.
Despite showing no apparent injuries, officers noted signs of impairment and arrested the driver for DUI and traffic-related charges. No other vehicles or individuals were harmed. The investigation remains ongoing and the driver's identity has not been disclosed.
Attorney Timothy O'Reilly of Litigators for Justice noted that DUI accidents can have devastating consequences for innocent parties. "Auto accidents involving impaired drivers often result in serious injuries and substantial financial losses," he said. "Victims and their families have the right to pursue compensation for medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering."
