Mar. 28, 2023 - Las Vegas, Nevada - A car wreck involving four vehicles left two people with life-threatening injuries in the northwest valley on Monday evening, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. The incident occurred around 5:33 p.m. at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Gowan Road.
According to police, a 2014 Hyundai Veloster was traveling westbound on Gowan Road at an "excessive speed" and ran through a red light, resulting in a car wreck. The Hyundai first hit a 2015 Kia Sorento heading north on Rainbow, causing the Kia to spin out of control and roll onto its passenger side. The Hyundai then struck a 2019 Ford F-150 that was stopped at the intersection facing south. As a result of the collision, some flying debris hit a 2010 Toyota Camry nearby.
Two women inside the Hyundai, the 19-year-old driver, and the 18-year-old passenger were critically injured and rushed to University Medical Center for treatment. The driver's injuries were severe enough that police sought a blood draw search warrant to determine if impairment was a factor.
The driver of the Kia reported only minor injuries, while the occupants of the other two cars were not injured. The car wreck remains under investigation as authorities try to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash and cleared the debris from the roadway. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and take alternate routes when possible.

When a loved one is hurt or killed in a car wreck, the aftermath can be overwhelming and confusing. In these difficult times, it's important to seek the advice and representation of a car wreck attorney. According to leading Las Vegas car wreck attorney Tim O'Reilly, "It's critical to contact an experienced attorney as soon as possible after an accident. An attorney can help you navigate the legal process and ensure that your rights are protected."
O'Reilly emphasizes that time is of the essence when it comes to car wreck cases. "Evidence can be lost or destroyed, witnesses can forget details, and insurance companies can start building their case against you right away. The sooner you have an attorney on your side, the better."
This advice holds especially true in cases where someone has suffered life-threatening injuries, as in the recent four-car wreck that occurred at Rainbow Boulevard and Gowan Road in Las Vegas. O'Reilly notes that "serious injuries can result in high medical bills, lost wages, and other expenses. A car wreck attorney can help you recover compensation for these costs, as well as for pain and suffering and other damages."
O'Reilly stresses that every case is unique and requires individual attention. "We take a personalized approach to every case we handle," he says. "Our goal is to ensure that our clients receive the best possible outcome, whether through settlement negotiations or in court."
If you or a loved one has been involved in a car wreck, don't hesitate to contact a car wreck attorney. As Tim O'Reilly advises, "Seeking legal representation can be the key to getting the compensation and justice you deserve."
