Driver Charged with DUI Following 3-Auto Crash that Shut Down US-95 Northbound at Jones on Wednesday Morning
A three-vehicle crash on US-95 northbound at Jones Boulevard brought traffic to a standstill Wednesday morning, with Nevada Highway Patrol responding to the scene and shutting down multiple lanes for several hours.
One driver was taken into custody on DUI charges after officers detected signs of impairment. Multiple occupants of the involved vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The closure caused significant traffic backup throughout the northwest Las Vegas valley during the morning commute. NHP is continuing the investigation into the full circumstances of the crash.
Crashes involving DUI drivers on Nevada freeways carry serious legal consequences and financial liability. Attorney Timothy O'Reilly of Litigators for Justice explained: "When an impaired driver causes a crash, victims are entitled to pursue compensation for all their damages - including medical bills, lost work time, and the pain and disruption to their lives."
