North Las Vegas Police Investigate Car Accident Hit-and-Run that Resulted in the Death of One Pedestrian in Northeast Valley
North Las Vegas Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The driver fled the scene after striking the victim, leaving them in the roadway.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and seeking tips from the public about the identity of the fleeing vehicle. A description of the suspect vehicle was released, but no arrest has yet been made.
Hit-and-run pedestrian fatalities are among the most devastating crashes because victims and families are initially left with no identified responsible party. However, legal options remain available even when the at-fault driver has not been found.
"In hit-and-run cases, uninsured motorist coverage can be a critical resource for victims and their families," explained Timothy O'Reilly of Litigators for Justice. "We also investigate independently - often identifying drivers or vehicles that police haven't yet located. Don't assume your only option is to wait for an arrest."
